Senna happy with return to cockpit

24 July 2010

Bruno Senna was back in action at Hockenheim on Friday, although regular team partner Karun Chandhok was in the BBC Radio 5 live commentary box as he is this time replaced by Hispania Racing reserve driver Sakon Yamamoto.

In treacherous conditions for the morning session, Senna finished ahead of Yamamoto but also the unexpected name of Michael Schumacher as the 7-time World Champion suffered rear wing problems.

In the afternoon, normal service was resumed as Bruno dropped back to 23rd, a second up on his team-mate.

“It was a good and productive day for us,” said the Brazilian. “We managed to do some testing and we got an idea of what we are going to do to the car.

“I enjoyed driving in wet conditions this morning, although at the end of the first session I pushed a bit too hard and went into the gravel. Now we have to focus on qualifying and the race and hopefully we can have a good result.”
