Kubica slowed by Red Bull in Q3

24 July 2010

Robert Kubica was neither delighted nor downbeat following Saturday’s track action at the Hockenheimring, as he qualified seventh in Germany. However, the Pole very much remains ‘best of the rest’ behind the leading Red Bull, Ferrari and McLaren cars.

Unlike at recent races, when at times Robert has been able to mix with those ahead of him, today saw the current ‘big three’ lock out as many rows at the front of the grid.

“I am reasonably happy to be seventh on the grid and I think that, for now, we have to realise that we could not have qualified any higher than this,” said Kubica.

“My lap could have been better, because I was held up by a Red Bull in the final sector, but I don’t think it would have changed my position.

“We have had a couple of issues with the car here and at Silverstone and I have not felt as confident with it, so we know that it’s important to keep working to improve the feeling because that will give us more consistency.”
