Barrichello: We need to work hard

28 July 2010

No less than six members of the current field have enjoyed race victory in Hungary, with the second earliest of them being Rubens Barrichello for Ferrari in 2002. This weekend, the Brazilian returns certain that Williams can pick up more points after failing to score last time out in Germany.

After 11 of the 19 races so far in 2010, Barrichello has collected 29 points and therefore lies 11th in the current Drivers’ Championship standings, with Williams seventh for constructors’ honours due to their current sum of 31.

“I like the Hungaroring and I have won there in the past,” Rubens began. “Of course the most critical issue is that you have to qualify well to have a good race. The circuit requires a very different setup and the track surface is pretty bumpy.

“We'll be looking to carry our present momentum on to Hungary. It is not as if we had a bad race last weekend - it is just that the rhythm and pace of everyone is pretty similar, but we ended up in a bad position on the-track after the start

“I am confident the speed is still with us, we will just need to work hard in Budapest to make sure we are at the front of the pack we are in.”
