Hungaroring weather update: Wet qualifying possible

29 July 2010

Rain is likely to hit the Hungaroring at some point over the weekend and local forecasts dictate that downpours could particularly affect proceedings for qualifying day in Budapest.

Hungary is yet to experience a rain-affected event since its unique 2006 race, when Jenson Button clinched his maiden Grand Prix victory for Honda.

For 2010, conditions are likely to remain dry for both practice sessions on Friday although the evening could see some sprinkles of rain arriving.

Heavy rain is then forecast for both the day and night of Saturday, with more light showers also possible for Sunday before the skies clear as night sets in post-race.
