Virgin Racing drivers Timo Glock and Lucas di Grassi reported no car issues as they finished practice 20th and 21st quickest in Hungary on Friday.
Glock’s best effort of 1:25.376 was over five seconds down on the pace-setting Red Bull of Sebastian Vettel although the German did end the day three tenths up on his team-mate.
“A normal Friday for us, without any problems with the car, so it has been quite an easy day for us,” said Timo, who finished second in Budapest for Toyota in 2008.
“We did a lot of setup work. In terms of our speed we are not where we want to be just yet, but we have a good baseline with which to start the weekend.”
“We have had a good Friday without any reliability problems, so the weekend has started smoothly,” di Grassi added.
“We did all the work we needed to do and I am looking forward to improving the car even more tomorrow and continuing the progress. I hope the weather stays stable so we can have a good qualifying session.”
