Red Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel demolished the rest of the Formula 1 field as the duo were untouchable in Saturday morning's free practice session at the Hungaroring. Webber completed his best lap in 1.19.574, which is over a full second faster than any other team.
Today's hour-long free practice session took place under perfect weather conditions. However, the action began with a big oil trace between Turns 1 and 6 from a Formula BMW car, with dust covering the oil causing slippery conditions. It took half a session of Formula 1 practice before the track was completely clean again.
At Force India Vitantonio Liuzzi suffered from a driveshaft problem. The Italian had to sit out the final 20 minutes of the session but according to the team the problems shouldn't effect his qualifying session later today.
Sauber drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Kamui Kobayashi will be happy with the team's current pace. The pair ended 13th and 14th, ahead of its competitors Toro Rosso and Force India.
At Red Bull, nothing less than pole position will be expected this afternoon after such a strong free practice session; the Milton Keynes team has topped the timesheets in every session so far this weekend and created a clear gap to its closest rival, Ferrari, on Saturday morning.
