Williams achieved a double points finish in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix, which included a career-best result for Nico Hülkenberg plus a highly dramatic moment against the pit wall for Rubens Barrichello. Technical Director Sam Michael is now expecting more top ten finishes once the month-long summer break comes to a close.
As explained to GPUpdate.net, Barrichello returned to homeland Brazil on Monday in order to spend his time off with friends and family. Hülkenberg, meantime, is holidaying with his girlfriend before the pair of drivers regroup for the Belgian Grand Prix at the end of the month.
“The whole car package will be good there,” said Michael. “We should be able to run inside the top ten, as we've been doing recently.”
The Australian also shared his opinion on the incident which so nearly ended with a frightening accident for Barrichello, who was squeezed against the Hungaroring pit wall by former team-mate Michael Schumacher’s Mercedes.
“From my perspective, Michael’s move just proved to everyone how completely committed Rubens is!” Sam smiled.
