McKenzie to host BBC show in Japan

It has been confirmed that BBC F1 pit reporter Lee McKenzie will become the sport’s first-ever female presenter as she replaces regular anchorman Jake Humphrey for this year’s Japanese Grand Prix on the second weekend of October.

Having become a pit lane reporter as Formula 1 in Great Britain returned to the BBC from ITV last year, Lee has written several columns for GPUpdate.net and looks forward to working alongside regular pundits David Coulthard and Eddie Jordan.

Hailing from Ayr in Scotland, Lee has worked as a freelance journalist from the age of 15 and has previously presented a number of programmes including three seasons of A1 Grand Prix coverage for Sky Sports plus ITV’s afternoon motorsport show Speed Sunday alongside Matt Smith in 2004.

Other TV jobs include presenting the 6 o’clock news for Border Television on the England/Scotland perimeter plus coverage of the Rugby World Cup, Wimbledon tennis, horse racing, netball and football.
