Valmor Sport, organisers of the European Grand Prix in Valencia, have moved to query their race being placed in an August position on a version of next year’s race calendar which has been leaked across the internet.
Totally unofficial, the calendar in question contains 20 races, sees the Republic of Korea move between China and Spain and notes an inaugural Indian Grand Prix in the second half of the year.
Having made its debut in 2008, Valencia’s street circuit shifted from its August spot to June for this year, with the former having come in the heart of local holidays as well as meaning baking conditions for spectators.
Following recent discussions with Formula 1 commercial rights holder Bernie Ecclestone, Valmor has been quoted in the Spanish press as requesting a June date once again, with the date change having been reflected by an increase in ticket sales for this season’s event.
