Norbert Haug believes that it is now time to move on from the highly controversial incident between Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix, which involved the German forcing his former Ferrari team-mate towards the pit wall before apologising via his personal website on Monday.
Having been handed a 10-place grid drop penalty for the next race in Belgium following the moment which so nearly saw the Williams being pushed into the concrete wall by the Mercedes works car, Haug is sure that enough has been said over the disagreement.
“Michael has apologised and accepted his punishment,” the Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport told German newspaper Der Tagesspiegel.
“Being Sorry means everybody should now accept that it is all over and a final line should now be drawn under that particular topic.”
