Tonsillitis threatens Button's triathlon chances
Preparing to move into his first weekend of summer break, World Champion Jenson Button has unfortunately picked up a case of tonsillitis, which comes just two days before the Frome man is set to take part in the London Triathlon.
Jenson hopes his illness won’t prevent his taking part in London this weekend
Since finishing eighth in Hungary on Sunday, the McLaren driver has returned to Guernsey in order to continue preparations for this weekend’s swim, cycle and run.
However, Jenson has explained his condition via a Friday afternoon message on his personal Twitter feed:
‘Hey guys had a pretty bad night last night with a virus... Been to the GP, he says I've got a mild case of tonsillitis :-( & bad congestion.’
