Red Bull's Adrian Newey was taken to hospital on Sunday for precautionary checks after crashing at Snetterton in a Ginetta G50 race. Newey was invited to drive a guest car this weekend.
In this weekend's British Touring Car Championship event at Snetterton Red Bull Racing technical director Adrian Newey crashed out of the race on lap two after tangling with Julien Draper.
“Adrian Newey was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure after being clipped by Julien Draper of Barwell Motorsport which caused Tony Hughes of Speedworks to have a side on collision with Newey's DynoJet car,” Ginetta chairman Lawrence Tomlinson was quoted by Autosport.
“It's testament to the strength of the G50 roll cage that the car withstood heavy impact and there were no serious injuries.”
