Sauber expecting to be more competitive in 2011

13 August 2010

According to team boss and owner Peter Sauber he expects his team to have a better package ready for next season. The Hinwill-based team expects to be more competitive next season and a better sponsorship package.

“I believe that we will be at a competitive level,” Peter Sauber told Autosport. “There is a good possibility for new partners and we are working very hard on that. We're sure we will have more colour on the car next year. I don't know what basic colour - it depends on the sponsor.”

Peter Sauber furthermore expects to move up the grid next season as the team is hoping to close the gap with the top teams in Formula 1. “We will get closer to the other teams. We are already close to Williams, sometimes behind, sometimes in front, and it's the same with Mercedes. That clearly shows that it's possible with limited budget to go forward. The lap times are on a very good level.”
