Current Formula 1 tyre supplier Bridgestone has said that it is not preparing to work with new arrivals Pirelli, with the Italian manufacturer set to take over from 2011 onwards.
F1 has sported a single tyre supplier since 2007 although Bridgestone will depart at the end of this season, with Pirelli – which completed its first tyre test with Nick Heidfeld last Tuesday - rejoining the series after last winning with Nélson Piquet and Benetton at the 1991 Canadian Grand Prix.
However, the Milan-based company is not set to receive any data from their Japanese counterparts.
“I’m sure that, as the current supplier of GP3, Pirelli has already collected enough information for Formula 1,” a Bridgestone spokesperson is quoted as saying by Germany’s Motorsport Magazin.
