UBS becomes Global F1 Partner

Swiss financial services company UBS has become an official Global Partner of Formula 1, it has been confirmed by sporting commercial rights holder Formula One Management (FOM), with the deal set to be formally launched at the Singapore night race at the end of next month.

With a global reach spanning four continents, Formula 1 has been pinned as an ideal platform for UBS, which was founded in 1854, is based in Switzerland’s Zürich & Basel and deals with customers on a worldwide basis.

“UBS is a global company where performance, teamwork and superior execution are integral to their clients’ success,” comments FOM head Bernie Ecclestone.

“These values complement those of Formula 1 and I’m delighted to welcome UBS to Formula 1.”

“UBS has been searching for a global sponsorship platform that has appeal to our clients, promotes our brand globally and makes good commercial sense,” added Oswald Grübel, the Group Chief Executive of UBS.

“Our new partnership with one of the largest and most popular sporting organisations in the world will fulfil all these criteria and it constitutes a key element of our newly launched branding activities. The global reach of F1 complements the many local activities we support.”
