McLaren have told GPUpdate.net that they will remove the f-duct device from their cars for next month’s Italian Grand Prix.
With the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa set to restart Formula 1 this weekend following the summer break, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button will continue to run the rear wing-stalling component which has been on the car since Bahrain.
However, with Monza being the quickest track on the calendar and therefore the entire field using low-downforce setups to cope with its predominantly long straights, the use of the f-duct will not be necessary.
“We’re racing it at Spa this weekend but not at Monza, no,” a McLaren spokesperson confirmed to GPUpdate.net on Monday afternoon.
