‘It won’t be easy but I’m optimistic’ – Vettel

24 August 2010

With several long sections of track on offer, Spa-Francorchamps could reveal more Red Bull weaknesses than the majority of circuits remaining on this year’s Formula 1 calendar although Sebastian Vettel is positive that an upbeat result can be enjoyed in Belgium this weekend.

After making a mistake and throwing away an almost certain victory in Hungary four weekends ago, German Vettel is placed third in the Drivers’ Championship and just ten points (the equivalent of one fifth place) behind series leader and team-mate Mark Webber.

“I love Spa, it has some of the best corner sections in Formula 1; they’re long, fast-flowing and suit our car,” Vettel commented on Tuesday afternoon.

“We were very competitive in the race there last year but we lost out in qualifying a bit; our weakness will be the long straights and, with uphill sections too, we know it won’t be easy for us, but I am optimistic for the race.”
