Toro Rosso drivers optimistic about Spa

25 August 2010

Both Toro Rosso drivers believe that a chance of scoring points could be on the cards as the Formula 1 circus prepares for Round 13 of 19 in Belgium this weekend.

This year’s race at Spa will be the second for both men, with Sébastien having finished 12th a year ago whereas Jaime Alguersuari was caught up in the opening-lap pile-up at Les Combes.

“Having a rest before the final push of the last seven races is a sensible idea,” the Swiss began as the month-long summer break draws to a close.

“As for the Belgian weekend, of course I am looking forward to it; last year, our lap times were pretty competitive at Spa.

“My aim is to try and score points and everyone in the team is very motivated to get the most out of this weekend and start the final leg of the season with a strong performance.”

“As for Spa, I think the track should suit my driving style perfectly, as it consists mainly of high-speed corners, which I really like,” added the Spaniard. “We will be having our own battle in our part of the pack; I am hoping that the lower aero downforce levels required at Spa might see us run more competitively.”
