Glock excited by ‘great opportunity’ at Spa

25 August 2010

Virgin Racing will contest its first Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, with Lucas di Grassi making his own Formula 1 debut at Spa-Francorchamps after team-mate Timo Glock raced to respective ninth and tenth finishes for Toyota in 2008 and 2009.

With Spa being the longest circuit on the calendar and often throwing up unusual results as well as curious weather conditions, Glock is eager for Friday’s first practice session to arrive.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Spa this weekend and I'm sure everyone else is looking forward to getting back on-track too after the break,” said the German.

“Spa is a fantastic circuit. It looks that it's quite likely to be wet at some stage over the weekend, which means that being on the right tyres at the right time will be crucial.

“This gives us a great opportunity to show how much we've developed as a team and, as always, we'll be aiming to out-qualify and finish ahead of the other new teams.”
