Alonso wanting calm return to racing

26 August 2010

Fernando Alonso hopes to begin his seven-race hunt for the 2010 title in a calmer fashion at Spa this weekend than he finished in Hungary, with much speculation having still been circulating with regards to Ferrari’s Hockenheim tactics.

With his team set to go before the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) in Paris next month, high media attention is expected although Fernando is concentrating only on the task in hand.

“Now I really want to get back on-track but in a positive sense, without any feeling of anxiety and in a very calm way,” he said.

“I have a good feeling following on from the positive results picked up in Germany and Hungary. As the ‘saying’ goes, we have to keep the momentum and that should be our aim at Spa - to ensure we carry on the way we started just before the holidays.

“The Hockenheim and Budapest results were important, not just in terms of the classification in both championships but also for the confidence it has given us. We have to keep pushing in this way.”
