Rubens Barrichello was all smiles in the Williams hospitality area following Friday practice in Belgium, the start of his 300th Grand Prix weekend and one which – due to the weather conditions – promises to be dramatic.
With a shower having hit the track before practice began in the morning, more erratic rainfall came as the day progressed, forcing an early end to GP2’s sole practice session shortly after noon as well as throwing a number of variables into the Formula 1 mix.
“Today was a classic Spa scenario with the weather and I love it because it throws everything up in the air!” Barrichello said.
“The car is fine but, like everyone, we had neither sufficient dry or wet running to really optimise in either condition, which leaves some question marks for us and I am sure everyone else to resolve, but we had a productive day nevertheless.”
