The Williams-Cosworth cars of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg continued to impress in Belgium as, in seventh and ninth positions on the grid, the pairing notched up their fourth double top ten qualifying result of the 2010 season so far.
Set to start his 300th Formula 1 race on Sunday, Barrichello heads the fourth row from the Force India of Adrian Sutil, having picked up his maiden pole position for Jordan at the same circuit in 1994.
“Today was a good effort by everyone in the team,” Rubens began. “We were struggling a bit with setup this morning but the team came up with some great ideas after practice to get the car into better shape for qualifying and they paid off.
“I'm delighted to be up in seventh place. I'm having a great weekend celebrating my 300th race with my family and the team and I will be pushing hard tomorrow to get a good result.”
“It was not a bad outcome today for the team, with two cars in the top ten,” the reigning GP2 Champion added. “I am happy enough with my position, especially considering that my last run in Q3 to claim my grid slot was on a used set of Options (Soft compound tyres) that clearly were past their best.”
