Colin Kolles, Team Principal of Hispania Racing, has said that the Spanish outfit continues to aim for tenth position in this year’s Constructors’ Championship after enjoying a generally strong race weekend last time out in Belgium.
The team has improved a lot between the first race in Bahrain and now…
Yes, the team is becoming more and more like one unit and we are making progress.
The Belgian race was the thirteenth of the season. What can you say about the performance of your drivers?
I think that both drivers are doing a good job. We had the best qualifying result so far at Spa and Sakon (Yamamoto)’s lap times were on the same level as Kovalainen and Glock's in the race; I don’t think there is any reason to make any changes so far.
There are now more sponsor logos on the car. What are your general feelings on this?
Obviously this is a positive sign but we have to work hard to get as much sponsorship as possible for 2011.
Are you proud of the members of your team and the job they are doing to get the car on the grid at every race?
I am very proud because we can’t say that we had an optimal pre-season preparation period. I think they’re doing a fantastic job.
How is the financial situation?
With more sponsors on-board, the situation is improving. As I mentioned before, in F1 you need a lot of support and this is what we are trying to achieve.
What are your expectations for the upcoming race at Monza?
Monza is a special race, with the highest top speeds. So far we have been quite competitive on circuits where high downforce levels are not required.
How far up can Hispania Racing reach at the six remaining races of the season?
We are pushing to finish tenth in the Constructors’ Championship.
