Chandhok weighing up 2011 possibilities

8 September 2010

At present, Karun Chandhok is out of a drive for next year although the Indian is optimistic that a position in a Formula 1 team can be secured. So far in 2010, Karun has driven in ten Grands Prix and notched up a highest finish of fourteenth place.

The 26-year-old made his debut with 2010 newcomers Hispania in Bahrain although he is yet to race since Silverstone, with Sakon Yamamoto having moved into the seat alongside Bruno Senna. However, the chance remains that Chandhok may return to racing alongside the Japanese before seeing out the current season.

“At the moment we're looking at all available options for 2011, including of course HRT,” he told the official F1 website, with a race in his home country set to be on the calendar next year.

“There's still a bit of time and obviously I would love to be on the grid in Delhi but the main aim is to secure something good for the whole season, not just Delhi.”
