
Motorsport commentating legend Murray Walker may no longer be ‘The Voice of Formula 1’ although the high tones of the 86-year-old have still been very much heard this year thanks to his guest role in popular children’s television animation Roary the Racing Car.
Seen on Five in the United Kingdom as well as in the United States, Canada, Australia and Latin America, Murray’s recent teaming up with famed comedian Peter Kay (character Big Chris) has allowed for a selection of new ‘Murrayisms’ to be enjoyed by children, parents and guardians across the globe.
Based at fictional race track Silver Hatch - a combination of real-life venue names Silverstone and Brands Hatch - the latest adventures of Roary have also featured an animated version of Murray, who hails from Hall Green in Birmingham, skateboarding, as can be seen in the video below.
