As predicted by most at Monza, Renault's Vitaly Petrov has been handed a 5-place grid drop penalty after qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix for his blocking of Timo Glock.
With the Virgin Racing driver having been the first man to begin a flying lap in Q1, the German was clearly baulked by the Russian as the Renault, which had just left the pits, was placed on the inside line under braking for the Rettifilo Chicane.
Petrov, who qualified 15th, will therefore now start Sunday's race from 20th position as Glock goes to the back of the grid due to a 5-place penalty of his own for a gearbox change.
