Klien pleased to be back

24 September 2010

Christian Klien declared himself happy following practice for the Singapore Grand Prix today as he gears up for his first F1 race in more than three years. Klien has got the opportunity to race this weekend for Hispania after Sakon Yamamoto was taken ill with suspected food poisoning.

Although the Austrian finished the day slowest and was eight tenths off his team-mate, Bruno Senna, he was still pleased: “I am happy to be back racing, which wasn’t easy at the beginning of the first session as I only did 40 laps in this car before,” Klien said.

“But I felt more and more comfortable in the cockpit and could learn a lot and get more experience.

"I found a good pace on the prime tyres even if I lost some time on the options compared to my teammate. I am looking forward to tomorrow and I hope to improve again.”

Senna added: “It was a good day for us here at the special event in Singapore. We managed to try a few things on the car and we learnt a lot about the track.

"In the second practice, we could improve and now we have to get ready for tomorrow.”
