Klien: I really enjoyed being back

26 September 2010

Christian Klien failed to make it to the end of his Formula 1 comeback race on Sunday although the Austrian remains pleased to have seen the five red lights from a cockpit for the first time since Monza 2006.

Red Bull-backed Christian entered F1 with Jaguar back in 2004 before switching to Red Bull Racing alongside David Coulthard for the 2005 campaign. In 2006, he drove his final race in Italy before being replaced by Dutchman Robert Doornbos.

“I really enjoyed being back in Formula 1 again, even though a comeback here in Singapore might be one of the most difficult,” he said.

“Due to the humidity and the challenging circuit, it has been a tough race today. At the beginning I got off to a good start, picked up some positions and was 18th.

“I want to thank the whole team for their great job and also for giving me the opportunity to race.”
