Michael: We should be quick on variety of tracks

29 September 2010

Williams Technical Director Sam Michael has explained that the Grove-based team should now be in a strong position to challenge for points at all four of the remaining Grands Prix on this year’s calendar, having achieved another double points finish with Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg in Singapore on Sunday.

Thanks to their eventual result of sixth and tenth for the Brazilian-German combination, Williams now lies just four points behind Force India for sixth position in the World Constructors’ Championship.

“Singapore showed that we have made good progress with the FW32,” Michael commented.

“Recent results highlight the fact that we've been competitive at a variety of different circuit layouts. That should continue for the remaining races on the calendar.

“As it’s been for the past few races, our objective for Japan is to get both cars into the top ten in qualifying and then for both to score points in the race.”
