Although he may have been the final finisher at Suzuka, Sakon Yamamoto’s classification of sixteen place is officially his best since joining Hispania Racing.
“I am glad about my best race result this season and I want to especially thank the Japanese crowd for their great support,” he said after the race.
“It was a tough race and I had some fuel pressure drops; despite this we were able to fight for positions and control one of our competitors over many laps.
“In the end, it was a special feeling to race again here at Suzuka and to be able to help the team achieve its sixth double-car finish this season. I also want to thank the team for doing a great job.”
