Hispania holds on to Klien for Abu Dhabi

10 November 2010

Hispania Racing has confirmed that Christian Klien will race for the third time this season in Abu Dhabi at the weekend, having also contested the Brazilian Grand Prix three days ago. Sakon Yamamoto’s season therefore ended early after the Korean Grand Prix, in which the Japanese driver finished 15th as the final runner.

HRT began its 2010 campaign with Senna and Karun Chandhok before the former was replaced by Yamamoto for the British Grand Prix in July.

Since then, the Toyohashi man had replaced Chandhok at every race bar Singapore, when Klien made his Formula 1 comeback.

“I’m looking forward the last race of 2010 in Abu Dhabi,” the Austrian commented at Yas Marina on Wednesday afternoon.

“It’s my third chance to compete for the team this season and I’m getting more and more used to the car and the crew. I hope we can achieve some great results and have a clean weekend.

“We should have similar pace to Brazil, so I think we can be a challenge for the new teams.”
