Former Hispania Racing Formula 1 driver Karun Chandhok will be returning to a single-seater cockpit by driving in Abu Dhabi’s GP2 test session on Thursday.
Having last raced in F1 at the British Grand Prix in mid-July, Chandhok is pleased with his opportunity to sample the new rubber compounds, with Pirelli supplying both F1 and GP2 in 2011.
‘I'm driving in the GP2 test on Thursday to shakedown the new car for my old team ORT (Ocean Racing Technology),’ the Indian explained via his personal Twitter feed.
‘Good chance to try Pirelli tyres and knock the rust off!’
