Formula 1 driver Lucas di Grassi has won heat 1 of the International Challenge of Go-Kart Champs on Saturday night at Arena Sapiens in Florianópolis, Brazil. Di Grassi started from second on the grid but won the battle with Ferrari's Felipe Massa on track. Former F1 driver Antonio Pizzonia finished third.
On Sunday the various race drivers will compete again in race 2. The fans in Brazil will see Williams F1 driver Rubens Barrichello start from pole position due to the reversed grid. Di Grassi will have to start from the fourth row alongside Felipe Massa.
The only non-Brazilian competing in Brazil is Toro Rosso's Jaime Alguersuari. He finished fourth on Saturday.
