Lucas di Grassi has rebuffed gossip that he could be appointed Pirelli’s official test driver for the 2011 season, having lost his Virgin Racing seat to Jérôme d’Ambrosio.
With only a single place now remaining at Hispania, it appears unlikely that Brazilian di Grassi will be seen on this year’s grid although he admits that the Pirelli job could be the best decision under the current circumstances.
'The news about Pirelli test driver role is just speculation at this stage but, sure, it would be interesting to understand the tyre better,' he commented via his personal Twitter feed.
