Sauber links up with Hong Kong airline

16 February 2011

Sauber Motorsport has announced an official partnership with Hong Kong-based airline Asia Jet for selected races this season, meaning at the Grands Prix in question its logos will be displayed on the cars of Kamui Kobayashi and Sergio Pérez.

Asia Jet becomes Formula 1’s fourth airline after Kingfisher, AirAsia and Virgin Atlantic, who are associated with Force India, Team Lotus and Marussia Virgin Racing respectively.

One of the races involved in the Sauber-Asia Jet link-up will be the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, where logos will be seen on the graphite-coloured cars’ rear wing endplates.

“Asia Jet is a prestigious and growing brand in a high-tech business in which time and performance are crucial, as is also the case in our sport,” Team Principal Peter Sauber commented of the leading private jet firm.

“As Formula 1 is getting more and more popular in Asia, with an increasing number of races to be held there, we regard Formula 1 as an ideal marketing platform for Asia Jet.”
