Lotus Renault GP has pleasantly reported that injured Robert Kubica will soon be departing the intensive care unit of Italy’s Santa Corona Hospital, following his shocking accident in a club rally twelve days ago.
After his most recent surgery this week, lasting for some eight hours as his shattered elbow was attended to, Kubica returned to intensive care although the Pole will soon be transferred to the rehabilitation department.
On-track in Barcelona on Friday, both Vitaly Petrov and recently-signed Nick Heidfeld were in action for Renault although their running was delayed due to a suspected software problem.
