Marussia Virgin supporting new karting category
28 February 2011 – Marussia Virgin Racing has announced that for 2011 it is now backing and closely following the new Formula KGP karting series – a seven-round championship joining the Super 1 Series in which a selection of up-and-coming talents will be competing.
To highlight its support of the series, Marussia Virgin Racing logos will be appearing on the karts plus driver overalls and helmets. A launch for the championship was formally held at the PF International Kart track in Lincolnshire on Saturday, with Jérôme d’Ambrosio having been present for a selection of demonstration laps.
“It’s not an easy progression, so if the talent is there it should be supported. As a team, we have to think today about the drivers of tomorrow and that means ensuring there is a rich pool of talent to draw from further down the line.”
