Rubens Barrichello is pleased to report that he has communicated with friend and former team boss Sir Jackie Stewart, who was taken ill from a flight on Wednesday.
Having suffered chest pains and fallen briefly unconscious on a British Airways flight returning to London Heathrow from Geneva, the triple World Champion of 1969, 1971 and 1973 was soon admitted to hospital for check-ups although his family has since released a statement explaining that a ‘full recovery’ is looming.
‘To my friends that got worried with Sir Jackie Stewart I can say that he is fine...he had a full check-up and he feels good now,’ Williams driver Barrichello, who collected Stewart Grand Prix’s sole pole position and four of its five podium finishes, explained via his personal Twitter feed.
