The T-Sport British Formula 3 team has congratulated Sauber's Sergio Pérez for his performance in last weekend’s Australian Grand Prix. The Mexican surprised all at Albert Park by, despite his limited Formula 1 experience, managing to complete the distance with just one pit-stop.
Pérez drove with T-Sport in 2007, winning the British F3 National Class. The following season, he was involved in a four-way scrap for the overall title which eventually went to Carlin and Jaime Alguersuari.
“Melbourne also marked the debut of new tyre manufacturer, Pirelli, and Pérez confounded the Formula 1 community by being the only driver to make one single pit-stop during the race, with all of the other front-runners making two or three stops apiece,” acknowledged T-Sport Chief Engineer Alan Woodhead.
