Kubica continues to make strong progress

4 April 2011

Robert Kubica remains in Italy's Santa Corona hospital following his freak club rally accident in January, with the Pole continuing with his rehabilitation programme. However, it remains too early to predict any possible comeback date.

After the crash partially severed the 26-year-old’s hand, with a metal roadside barrier having impaled his Skoda Fabia, GPUpdate.net can report on Monday that he continues to make positive progress, receiving physiotherapy on a daily basis.

In Renault’s first Grand Prix of the season at Melbourne’s Albert Park, team-mate Vitaly Petrov was able to clinch a career-first podium finish whereas replacement Nick Heidfeld struggled after receiving heavy contact from a Toro Rosso car.
