Lewis Hamilton, a keen guitarist, has parted company with 100,000 dollars (61,000 pounds) to purchase a gold guitar previously owned by American musician Prince.
With Prince having held an auction, where all funds raised went towards art, education and the environment, he revealed Hamilton’s acquisition of the Fender Stratocaster when talking to United States television host George Lopez: “We got 100,000 for that from Lewis Hamilton, the racing car driver. It will be hard to part with.”
On Friday in China, the McLaren driver finished second quickest in practice to World Champion and current standings leader Sebastian Vettel.
