Mercedes GP driver Nico Rosberg will be acting as the company’s VIP guest when the DTM season begins at Hockenheim this weekend. After scoring his first points of the Formula 1 season last time out in China, the German is now looking forward to playing the part of chauffeur in an AMG Mercedes C-Class.
As part of a programme for personal sponsor Thomas Sabo, Rosberg – accompanied by corporate guests - will be driving a DTM car on-track for the first time.
“As a young driver, I grew up around the DTM and I know that it’s a fantastic series with a unique atmosphere and great crowds,” he said. “I can’t wait to get behind the wheel of the AMG Mercedes C-Class for my first ever drive in a DTM car.
“As a racing driver, it’s great to be able to drive different cars and broaden my experience – you always learn something. Although it’s a tin-top, the AMG Mercedes C-Class is a serious racing machine - I’ll be treating it with respect on my first drive but I’m also looking forward to seeing what it can do.”
