Nick Heidfeld admits that he is yet to feel at one with Pirelli’s Super Soft tyres, which make their race debut at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix. The red-marked compound was first wheeled out in Thursday afternoon’s second free practice session.
“When I ran on the Super Soft as I didn’t get a clean lap,” the German Renault driver commented, having been held up by traffic.
“It’s been interesting to be on different tyres – the Softs and the Super Softs, so we will definitely be able to learn some things about our performance using those and that’s what today is all about.
“On the Supers Soft tyres, the balance was not as good as I would have hoped but we will look into all aspects of both today’s sessions and push on come Saturday.”
