Fittipaldi to serve as Montreal steward again

Double World Champion Emerson Fittipaldi will return as FIA driver steward for this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, having first taken up the role in Montreal 12 months ago. The Brazilian will be joined by Garry Connelly, Executive Committee Member of the FIA Institute, and Tim Mayer, son of late McLaren Team Principal Teddy.

Fittipaldi spent the 1970s in F1, racing to 14 Grand Prix victories and six pole positions. Now 64, 'Emmo' was the first title winner from Brazil, claiming championships for Lotus and McLaren in 1972 and 1974, respectively.

Fittipaldi also represented the FIA as a steward at the 2010 Italian Grand Prix.
