Virgin Racing's target continues to be two-car finishes, with the Marussia-owned outfit soon focussing on 2012 after splitting with technical partners Wirth Research. Ahead of next season, the squad will be recruiting a selection of new engineers.
“Right now our focus has to be on doing the best job possible at every stage of the weekend so we are in a comfortable position come race day, then converting that into a strong two-car finish whilst keeping our immediate competitors behind us,” Team Principal John Booth said ahead of this weekend’s European Grand Prix.
In Valencia last year, Timo Glock and then team-mate Lucas di Grassi finished in respective 19th and 20th positions. Of the seven races so far this year, Virgin has managed a trio of two-car finishes (China, Spain and last time out in Canada).
