Virgin Racing has announced a scheme with partner SMC University for a new signature course entitled Racing Team Administration. The eight-week programme targets individuals wishing to pursue a career in the global motorsport industry, providing in-depth perspectives into the business of motorsport.
Topics covered on the course will include marketing, sponsorship acquisition and management, logistics and hospitality. Students taking part will also receive an internship at the Marussia Virgin Racing team and be able to watch from a Grand Prix grandstand at the venue of their choice.
“Just like the sporting side, the business of motorsport is an exciting, challenging, yet rewarding environment,” says Andy Webb, CEO of Virgin Racing. “A good education and training forms the cornerstone of great performance and success within the motorsport industry.
“Thanks to this partnership with SMC University, the students will also have the opportunity to work closely with Marussia Virgin Racing and we will both learn from each other as well. The Motorsport Management course gives the foundation needed to succeed in this amazing environment and to be an integral part of it.”
