Glock looking forward to home race

18 July 2011

Timo Glock will be one of six Germans taking part in his home Grand Prix this weekend, with the Nürburgring hosting the country’s national race for only the second time since 1985. Previously, the venue in the Eifel Mountains hosted the European Grand Prix which now runs on the Valencia Street Circuit.

“I’m really looking forward to my home Grand Prix in Germany,” says the Virgin Racing driver. “It’s great to be back at the Nürburgring - a track where I’ve enjoyed some very good races and a lot of success in the past in Formula BMW, F3 and GP2 as well as F1. The track itself is good fun. The first part is quite technical and the rest is really quite easy to drive.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the German fans. It will be great to feel their support and to have my friends and family around me; it’s always such a special feeling, it’s hard to describe. As I do at every race, I will do everything possible to achieve another strong result for the team.”
