Reigning MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo will take part in Felipe Massa’s annual karting event at the end of the season, being the first motorsport name to confirm his presence. The Spaniard will join a variety of other drivers who are yet to be named, with the race going ahead at Florianopolis on the weekend of December 3-4.
"Yes, we have just received an okay from him," explained Ferrari's Massa explained during a press conference on Monday afternoon. "Adrian (Sutil) also showed great interest in the event."
Mercedes GP driver Michael Schumacher will be forced to miss the weekend of racing, as he travels to Düsseldorf for the Race of Champions.
"There is a date clash with the Race of Champions, so he will not come," said Massa.
