Official: Senna to replace Heidfeld at Spa
24 August 2011 – The Lotus Renault GP team announced on Wednesday evening that Bruno Senna will race alongside Vitaly Petrov at this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. The Brazilian will replace Nick Heidfeld, with the latter recently failing to meet the squad's expectations.
The Enstone outfit signed Heidfeld just before the start of the season to substitute for the injured Robert Kubica, but team boss Eric Boullier has been left disatisfied with the German's overall pace, thus promoting test driver Senna to a race seat.
More details on the decision are expected on Thursday, when Senna will attend the opening FIA press conference at Spa.
