Chandhok replaces Trulli for first practice

9 September 2011

After Karun Chandhok drove Heikki Kovalainen’s car in opening practice for the Belgian Grand Prix, Team Lotus has confirmed that the Indian reserve driver will be back in action this morning as Jarno Trulli steps out of his cockpit for one session.

Chandhok will begin Lotus’ programme for the weekend alongside Kovalainen, with Trulli – especially excited about the potential of his new power steering system – then returning for this afternoon’s second 90-minute period.

“I have run most of my practice sessions in changeable conditions so am hoping for a dry run,” said Chandhok.

Practice 1 in Italy begins at 10am local time (BST +1) and can be tracked via the GPUpdate.net live report
